I wish I could be a kid again and sit at the kids’ table, but since I’m now setting my own table for the holidays, here are a few tips for setting the table in style!
Tip #1 Don’t Clutter!
You want to see the tabletop. Runners are a great idea; tablecloths are a thing of the past.
Place cards or other small name tags are a personal way of making your guests feel right at home.
Tip #3 Keep Center Pieces Low
There is nothing worse than having to bob and weave a center piece! Keep center pieces simple.
Tip #4 Who are you?
Tip #5 Matchy Matchy
Not everything has to match. Keeping a common thread of color throughout will be just enough to tie mis-matched items together.
Tip #6 Wait…where does this go?
Setting the table correctly is the least you can do as a good host! Passing down etiquette is a thing of the past, so with Google at our fingertips, there is no reason to not set the table correctly.
Go informal or formal with the above easy-to-use guide.
